Go Baby Go!

Well, Derby season has officially kicked off! We went to the track over the weekend and had a ball with a friend of mine from out of town!

It was opening day and the weather could not have been more perfect!

Sophie had a blast playing in the box!

Morgan came too and enjoyed picking her horses!

Between races, she found ways to entertain herself with her camera - LOL!

And they're off... Go FOUR, Go!

Woohoo!! I won six dollars!!!

Just call it beginner's luck!!

At the end of the day, Morgan came away a winner too... up one whole dollar! That is definitely a winning day!!

Derby... my favorite time of year!!

Conversations on the porch...

While outside today on the porch, Sophie decided to lay down and "call" her best little friend, Ellie, on her cell phone (of course, it is an old one and does not work). It was a full blown 10 minute conversation complete with pauses and occasional laughter at what appeared to be a very interesting conversation. I tried to catch it in action (story is fictitious, but the real conversation was hilarious)...

Hmmm... is that my phone ringing?

Why, Ellie... it is so nice to hear from you.

Ellie was filling her in on the latest 3 year old gossip.

Ha! Cracks me up that she has her legs just so casually crossed...

You don't say! Well, I just heard that he has a new girlfriend...

What? He's seeing who?! O.M.G.

Hmmm... that is very interesting.

Boys... what can we do with them? They just don't get it!

Well, if he asked me, I would tell him to stick with Dora!

Did I tell you that Ms. Emily at school monogrammed my cast?

That's freakin hilarious!

I miss you too, Ellie!

Just look at that face... all too soon, she will be having real phone conversations that she won't enjoy having her mom overhear!

PROM!

Tonight was the local boy school's junior prom night and Morgan went with her friend, Steven. What a cute little couple! Of course, the mamarazzi had to document the night and the dress and tear up looking at how beautiful and mature her baby girl is getting!

Trading of the corsages...

(oops... mom in the mirror)

OK, all together now... awwwww.......

Wow, is all I can say!

And off they go...

See ya, mom!

All these years of preparation and it is never easy to see your baby drive off without you... but I am so proud of my beautiful girl! She had a wonderful time!

Favorite Foto Friday #87 - ME!

One thing I did not realize when I selected this theme, as well as maybe one or two others in recent months, is that it coincided with the
It has been purely coincidental but fun to see our FFF themes mirror their contests! Someday, I would like to enter as one of the amateur contestants... but definitely NOT this week.

Tonight, I went outside to try and take a self photo of myself... it did not go so good, so I grabbed a cute little girl to be in it with me and voila... here we are being silly! I had to turn it to black and white because my pale complexion was so washed out next to her beautiful little face!

Here is Mr. Linky! You can find directions on how FFF works here.

This week in KY has been the official kickoff for the Ky Derby festivities! The weather is finally turning warmer and the grass is green and growing as fast as the horses run! I hope to enjoy the festivities as much as I can! So... the theme for next week will be RUN! Now run with it (I am so punny like that) and can't wait to see your winning shots!

Lastly... please keep baby Stellan in your thoughts and prayers...

Prayers for Stellan

A night on the porch with Bug

Just had to post some random cuteness pictures of Miss Sophie~Bug from our night out on the front porch! I just adore my Thursdays off with my girl and today was the start of our spring weather warm up! She was so excited to be my helper today while running errands, and despite a "no nap" meltdown after dinner tonight, today was a wonderful day with my little princess.

She has been such a trooper with her cast and gets way too much attention with her neon green appendage when we are out and about. I can't tell you how many comments and questions we got at T*rget.

She looks pained in this picture but wanted me to take a picture of the "S" that her teacher, Ms. Emily monogrammed onto her cast yesterday!

I have so many cute Sophie-isms that I want to remember, but when I sit down at the computer lately, I just can't seem to remember them. She can say the funniest things some days and it makes me realize just how quickly my girl is growing! Within the next 10 days, she will turn four years old... I cannot remember what our lives were like before she was in it!
