Sophie's Four Year Pics

No clever theme this week... just in a blogging funk, I guess. I haven't had much to say lately and have wanted to keep this blog as a journal for the kids and haven't been doing so well on that either.

But, on the bright side of things, Sophie got her 4 year pictures taken and they turned out pretty good, not stellar... I am so picky about pictures now. But, we did manage to squeeze in our first Mother Daughter pictures ever... what do you think?







We will be having another photo session next month in Florida with our precious Daniel and his family... I hope those turn out great! I am also looking into somebody to do Morgan's SENIOR pictures this summer. I have an idea of exactly what I want, but the people I would love to photograph her live too far away! :-(

On the not so happy side... so many people that are going through so much and maybe that is what has me down. I am not going to list them here as I don't want to forget anybody and leave them out. Just know that my heart is heavy and I am fervently praying for them.

Favorite Foto Friday #89 - MOMMY!

Oh my! Another week has just flown by!!! So much going on all the time at mi casa!! However, I am so excited about this week's theme since so many of us who participate in FFF are moms! And if you aren't now, yet or by choice, you at least have a mom or a special mom figure in your life! I can't wait to see the pictures you post!!

I have some favorite MOMMY pictures to share with you too....

The very first picture of me becoming a mom after Morgan was born...

Me becoming a mom of two with the arrival of Grant and introducing the siblings (boy... I looked like hell after that 24 hours of labor, I can't believe I am sharing this).


Me becoming a mom for the third time... the first time I held Sophie in Guatemala, she was 10 weeks old...

Happy 4th Birthday Sophie~Bug!!

A bittersweet day... my little baby Bug woke up this morning all excited and leaned over less than an inch from my face and proclaimed "I am not three any more, I am FOUR!!"... she was so excited! The next moment, she began to cry and asked to stay and snuggle in bed with her mommy. Not sure what was up with her emotions, but she was definitely over the top excited about her big day! She asked to go have pasta for lunch at the "Pasta Place" and then helped us set up for her big family party tonight. She was the star of the show, for sure and remembered without being prompted to hug, kiss and thank everybody for her gifts.

Her favorite gift and only thing she has asked for for months... Bend*aroos! Little bendy wax craft sticks that hopefully will keep her entertained for hours on end! The commercial says so... so I will let you know how it goes!

And... I was horrible with my camera today... hardly took any pictures at all. Morgan managed to grab a few at cake time... thought I would share! I LOVED her cake!!!

She was all shy smiles while we sang Happy Birthday to her...

Happy Birthday Beautiful Sophie~Bug! I love you all the way to the moon and back again!! Stay tuned for pictures from her party with her friends next weekend! It will be the day after she gets her cast off and she can hardly wait for both!!

Favorite Foto Friday #88 - RUN!!

The theme this week is RUN! My favorite picture this month is of Sophie running from the waves on the beach in Destin! I think it is so sweet how she runs so femininely with her arms out and her cute little toes pitter pattering across the sand.

And... not a "RUNNING" picture, but in honor of this being Kentucky Derby weekend, Sophie posed for me on her pony she has named Pinto with her jockey hat! Wouldn't she make the cutest jockey someday!?

Go Baby Go!

Well, Derby season has officially kicked off! We went to the track over the weekend and had a ball with a friend of mine from out of town!

It was opening day and the weather could not have been more perfect!

Sophie had a blast playing in the box!

Morgan came too and enjoyed picking her horses!

Between races, she found ways to entertain herself with her camera - LOL!

And they're off... Go FOUR, Go!

Woohoo!! I won six dollars!!!

Just call it beginner's luck!!

At the end of the day, Morgan came away a winner too... up one whole dollar! That is definitely a winning day!!

Derby... my favorite time of year!!

Conversations on the porch...

While outside today on the porch, Sophie decided to lay down and "call" her best little friend, Ellie, on her cell phone (of course, it is an old one and does not work). It was a full blown 10 minute conversation complete with pauses and occasional laughter at what appeared to be a very interesting conversation. I tried to catch it in action (story is fictitious, but the real conversation was hilarious)...

Hmmm... is that my phone ringing?

Why, Ellie... it is so nice to hear from you.

Ellie was filling her in on the latest 3 year old gossip.

Ha! Cracks me up that she has her legs just so casually crossed...

You don't say! Well, I just heard that he has a new girlfriend...

What? He's seeing who?! O.M.G.

Hmmm... that is very interesting.

Boys... what can we do with them? They just don't get it!

Well, if he asked me, I would tell him to stick with Dora!

Did I tell you that Ms. Emily at school monogrammed my cast?

That's freakin hilarious!

I miss you too, Ellie!

Just look at that face... all too soon, she will be having real phone conversations that she won't enjoy having her mom overhear!
