Favorite Foto Friday #64 - FAVORITE FAMILY FOTO!

OK... this one was EASY for me... my favorite photo of all time of my family complete and together was in July 2005. My mother (Nana), Morgan and Grant and I were in Guatemala together visiting our precious two month old baby, Sophia. She was SOOO tiny at just 8 pounds, much the same size as M & G when they were newborns! We were staying at the Marriott and they have the most beautiful outside courtyard with waterfall and tropical plants. We had some friends take some pictures of us together and I have this framed in my living room as my absolute FAVORITE family picture of all of my children together with me and my mom... three generations!

It actually brings tears to my eyes remembering all the feelings behind this moment... exhilaration at holding my precious baby yet realizing that I was going to have to do the most unnatural thing for a mother to do... leave my baby behind when we had to go back home. I was fortunate in that I was able to come back less than three months later to have her placed in my arms for forever. My heart aches thinking of all the parents out there who are still waiting for their precious children to be home for forever... that feeling is still so raw and so not in the best interest of the precious children waiting to be loved for forever. If you want to see another picture from this visit... go back to my FIRST FFF post ever... back in August 2007.

And... that does not even come close to the grief that I feel about children who will never have that moment... will never know the feeling of having their mommy hold them in her arms. We, as parents, have an obligation to those children left behind... no matter how small an effort we make... it does make a difference in the life of a child, whether it is one child or a whole orphanage of children. Please, in this upcoming season of miracles... please reach out, whether near or far, and help make the life of a child better because YOU cared for him/her.

Sorry, this post did not turn out quite like I intended... but this is something so near and dear to my heart and I just wanted to share it with the many who check in here weekly to give maybe just one person the nudge they need to BE THE CHANGE for one little life that is waiting... waiting to be loved.

OK... back to business. Here is Mr. Linky... LINK AWAY!! if you need directions, you can find them here. Please leave a comment that you were here! And please don't forget to title your post FFF.

**Many people are linking just their general blog address... this makes it very hard to come back after time to find your actual FFF post. Please be sure to link your actual post. There are also some blogs that comments cannot be left... I apologize to those that I cannot comment on their blog!

Next week's theme is "BLOWING KISSES". Post a picture of your favorite little kissy face! And, as always... you never have to adhere to the theme... it is just for fun and a little extra challenge! We love to visit you even when you post a different FFF!

Mayan Families Calendar!!

I am thrilled to announce that there will be a 2009 Mayan Families Calendar this year! Sharon contacted my good friend, Catherine, to create a 2009 calendar for Mayan Families. I was asked to join in the project with some of my pictures from my trip last fall and we worked with our wonderful, technical friend, Nancy to pull it all together and voila... open for orders!!

So come on... don't you need one for your wall at home and your desk at work to reminded daily of the beauty of the Mayan people and Guatemala?? If you order by November 30th, they should arrive for holiday gift giving! Orders will also be taken in the month of December for delivery after the holidays. You can paypal directly to the yahoo e-mail address above.

That is Sharon's daughter, Aleeyah, as Miss January. She is ADORABLE! I loved listening to her talk... her mother would talk to her in English and she would respond in Spanish.

If you are interested in ordering, please see the information above. All proceeds go directly to Mayan Families! Please feel free to post on your blogs to spread the word!!

Click on the picture to see a slideshow of each month of the calendar!

"Way Back" Word It For Me Weekend

You all crack me up!! I am LOVING the captions!!! I think I need to pick the top ten, not just one... but I think the winner is:

"I know you told me not to stick my finger in there, but I couldn't resist!"
by Alleen!!

OK... I had so much fun with this the last time, I must do it again. Help come up with a caption for this picture of Bug admiring her first little set of piggy tails! OMG! Was she really this tiny once? Look at her little bald spot on the back of her head... she was 8 months old here. I will pick the winning caption and post it here Monday night!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend! I have a teenager (Morgan) with a very nice case of mono and a raging sinus infection, so we pretty much stayed home this weekend to care for my poor precious princess... definitely no fun! I know I have ALOT of catching up to do with the blog... soon, I promise!

Favorite Foto Friday #62-PUMPKINS!

My Pumpkins

My favorite time of year! Our annual trek to the pumpkin patch! Above is my favorite picture since all three kids are smiling and not killing each other - LOL!

Sophie loved the field of pumpkins! Here she is testing one out!

My beautiful big girl and her chosen gourd.

Sophie is really into her big sister right now and followed her around to learn the ropes.

Those vines are tricky! Luckily, Sissy was there to help her back up!

My goofy boy showing me his pumpkin!

Wow! There are alot to choose from.

Found the perfect one!

This sucker's heavy!

This little greenie is cute too, Mommy.

Gotta hate it when you get something in your crocs!

Farmer Sophie!

This wheel's bigger than me!

Love my pumpkins!

Prayers for these baby girls

Many of you have already been praying for these precious babies, but if not, please send some prayers up for beautiful Bella...

and precious Abby!

.

Both of these beautiful girls are fighting cancer right now and dealing with some difficult days. Please hold them and their families up in prayer!!

And, Angel has begun a campaign called Operation Princess Hair to give Abby some new temporary hair and cute ball caps until her gorgeous hair grows back in. Please go to Angel's Blog to see how you can help!!

And as I have learned... Love, Hugs and F.R.O.G. (Fully Rely On God),
