Do you like my new hat?

Bug came up to me today carrying her new hat that I just bought her... and proudly told me that it "matched" her blouse! Yeah! I have created a color coordinated monster.

Cute monster, however....

And... I toyed with a natural light picture... not sure what I am doing wrong, it is out of focus, but I love it... anybody know how to put your camera settings at the right ISO, etc to get it just right? I have to venture out of my auto mode, even though it does such a great job...

And, hatless... just because she is so darn adorable!

And... BRRRRR... did I mention that it is f-f-f-freezing outside! Winter hit here with a vengeance after our mild fall.

Sarah,
Sophie is one beautiful child! That sweet face could melt fire. I think she looks so pretty in the color white too. Maybe you can video her and we can hear her voice? I'm thinking she has the sweetest voice to go with the sweetest looks. She sure does wear that hat well too! You are one blessed Momma!
Is it really that cold there? Like how cold?

Love and Hugs...

Very cute hat, and it looks so warm too.
We've had a cold Nov. too, but luckily no snow yet. We will see enough of that by the time winter is done!

She looks very cute in her hat! It;s funny you asked about the ISO on your camera. I was just reading a post from another blogger and she gave a good explanation on the ISO and her camera. Here is the link. I hope it helps!http://www.mycharmingkids.net/2008/11/photography-lesson-why-is-it-so-noisy.html

p.s. Her blog is addicting!

Yes, take that camera off auto!

The photo's blurry just because there wasn't enough light for your camera to focus properly. As far as getting the right settings, you really just have to play with them until you get a feel for it. If you have a meter on your camera, it will show you if you're under/overexposed, so that really helps.

To let more light into your camera, which is what you needed there, try lowering the aperture (fstop) first. How low you can go depends on your lens. You can also slow down the shutter speed, but I usually won't go below 250 with little ones because they move so much. As far as ISO, the higher the number, the more light, but I usually won't go over 1000 because you will get too much noise (grainy). That's why I make the other adjustments first, see if that works, then go to ISO.

Did that make any sense to you at all? I love to talk cameras!

I love her in a hat! She is such a beauty! I try to take my camera off automatic too but I don't do very well. I am hoping to find the time to take some classes this winter. I love photography but don't have the talent that I really, really wish I had!

I love her hat, her face, and your photography skills. You have a gorgeous subject, but I think you take great pictures. I am trying to get Savannah color coordinated since she picks out her own clothes now and I am getting there. That is so cute that she knows matches. Now she is a fashion bug too!!!
