Blogging

Do you know that I spend many moments of my day reading all of friend's blogs and immersing myself in the beauty of your words and pictures that I neglect my own blog?! I am definitely not a writer, but started this blog as sort of a "scrapbook" to keep of my family and what we have going on. It has turned into more pictures than anything else and I desperately want to blog about more important things but find myself at a loss for words most of the time.

Being a mom is the most important thing in the world to me, as I know many of you feel the same. My kids are my world and I have very little social life outside my FFF posts - LOL! This has been an insanely strange year... dealing with my son's illness for the greater part of the year, which I am happy to report is finally under control and he is finally thriving and we are not feeling the weight of the world on our shoulders anymore. My first baby turning 16 and becoming more independent, strong and beautiful every time I turn around. And my little Bug, who has definitely come out of her shell since turning 3! Wowza... I cannot even describe what my mild little baby has turned into... Additionally, I turned 40 and have lost 25 pounds over the past 6 months and feel better health wise than I have since I was in college. So many changes in such a short period of time.

Now the summer is here and we are enjoying more of a laid back time but the days just seem to slip by! I decided to tackle a renovation project at home that has become much more monumental than I expected but I know will pay off when it is complete. I envision us spending more time at home just at the time when teenagers start spending more time away... sigh...

I am looking forward to another mission trip to Guatemala this fall and have been spending some time researching paths for our group to take this year and cannot wait to go back!

I definitely see 2008 as being a very monumental year for our family and hope to become more of a blogger to chronicle our family and also to make positive changes in the world around us. I have been so inspired by so many friends and their own struggles and victories. I hope to share more of our own as well.

Hope you enjoy the ride!

Thank you for sharing about your family. Life is busy and I also find myself posting pics instead of writing those memories I don't want to forget. My mom is constantly telling me did you write that down. Maybe we can be eachothers inspiration as I too am at a turning point. Thank you for the moving words on my blog.

Sarah,
Congratulations on loosing 25 pounds! As we know every year after 40 is most difficult to loose weight. I battle keeping my weight down constantly.

I did not know about Grant's illness but am so happy to hear its under control...and yes..once the kids start driving that means less time at home. As one says once they have their "wings" you hardly see them...lol. That's part of gowning up that is most difficult for us Mom's.

Time slips away so fast in this house that it is scary. We keep saying that it can't be that Jonathan is going to be 18m. As wonderful as it is to see him grow and change it is sad that the infant years have disappeared.

Keep up about that renovation on your home. You will feel marvelous when it is done!

Love and Hugs...

I am right there with you on finding the words to share instead of just the pictures.

I am kind of new to the blog world but I too really am doing it in place of scrap books and such for my kids.

I think pictures say so much more than words and I love the pictures you post.

I was not aware your son was having health problems but I am glad it is under control. I know how hard it is when your child is ill. We feel so blessed that Dmitry is doing so well.

Congratulations on the weight loss. I have lost almost 20 pounds since Sophia came home. Mostly because she never sits still and I never get to eat but hey it still counts!!

Keep the great pictures coming!!

It's amazing to think it is already the middle of June. Time does go fast and during FFF last week I realized it was my 20th post in FFF. By your blog you have brought many people together that would never have connected. Your blog is a joy to view and I am happy I have had the pleasure to meet you and your kids in person.

I am like you to, I do tend to post a lot of pictures, but I think pictures also say alot without words. Being a mom is my life. As a single mom I tend to live my life through my daughters and neglect my own at times. I praise you for your weight loss. Your very inspiring. I also will sit down, start viewing blogs and in no time it has been an hour. Blogs bring inspiration, happiness, information, and sometimes sadness. But most of all it brings people together!

I hope Grant stays well and I thank you for your continued effort to always bring people together through your blogging. I feel like I have many "relationships" with people I have met through your blog that someday I hope to meet in person.
Again, thank you Sarah. See you on Friday!

Sarah,

You have had a very busy year and it has gone by so fast . . . I can't believe it is almost July. Donnie always says if he had one wish it would be to slow down TIME! :)

Congratulations on the weight loss! That is a huge accomplishment. You look fantastic.

I won't be able to do FFF this week because we are headed out of town this evening. I hate missing the Daddy & Me one! Maybe I'll just do it later - if I have time!

Remind me again . . . when are you headed to Florida in July? I really want to be able to get together.

Have a great weekend, Sarah! And thanks so much for sharing - I look forward to reading more of what's on your heart.
Love & FROG . . .

Oh Sarah I am so happy Grant is doing better. You have such a wonderful family and you're right, that's a TON to deal with in one year. I, too, would like to get to more writing as well but don't feel like I can come up with the words that truly express how I feel.

Sarah,

25 pounds - wow! I think you look fantastic! And Morgan is outstandingly (is that a word) beautiful. I didn't realize that Grant has been sick. I am glad he is feeling better. The one thing that I notice about Grant is his sweet nature. He has the best manners, too. And Sophie - I can't wait to see this new outoing side of hers!

Your family is fantastic, and you are the one who deserves the credit. I get the feeling that you are the kinds of person who weathers storms quietly, not a complainer. I would describe you as graceful in spirit and an ideal role model as a mother. Thanks for sharing with us.

Peace and Hugs,
Becca
