Happy Easter!!

We had a very relaxed Easter... went to church then came home and had brunch at home. We then went to see Horton Hears A Who at the theaters and basically just relaxed. And, after just having weather in the 70's on Friday, we had a blast of snow showers this afternoon with the biggest snowflakes I have every seen - UGH! So ready for Spring time!! Hope everybody had a wonderful Easter!!

Just some random Easter pics!

Dyeing Easter Eggs last night... Sophie and Grant had so much fun! Morgan was out at the movies with friends.

All four of us after church this morning.

Our traditional outside in front of the dogwood tree picture (no blossoms yet this year - so moved in front of the holly tree instead).

And my kiddos with their duck bill quackers from the Easter Bunny!

Back to work/school tomorrow!! I need a nap!!

Please check out BIG NEWS on my friend Kim's blog... she is a shining example of God's love and how He can use us to work for Him. Kim, you are my hero!

I did it anyways....

I know I said I wasn't going to torture her this year by making her sit on the Easter Bunny's lap, but after seeing everybody's Easter Memories, I just couldn't help it! I took Morgan along so that she could hold her on EB's lap (Grant was playing at a friend's house and this was very spur of the moment)... here is the result!

Not too bad... but then she saw EB's hand next to her...

And we get the full EB effect! I don't blame her... the whole EB costume thing is a little creepy to me too (i.e. pay no attention to the nose behind the teeth).

She was only partially traumatized and ended up waving bye bye to him as we left the mall with my prize! She will love me someday for this, right? (Wish I would have noticed her dress not being down, but you can't have it all.)

Happy Easter everybody! For this week's FFF, please share your Easter Memories! Since I have only had a digital camera for a couple years, I will share Easter 2006... and Bug's First Easter (11 months old).

Yeah... she still feels the same way about him... but I will not torture her again this year... but would LOVE the picture!

My three little peeps...

Easter Buggy!

I can't get over how tiny she was! Look at those two little teeth!

Easter Food For Dayli

As most of you know, I sponsor a child in San Jorge, Guatemala as part of Mayan Families School Sponsorship (see links in my sidebar). I have visited with her and her family last November on my mission trip and have been able to periodically send things down for her in various shipments as well as purchase items to help her family. This week, I found out that I could send some money down to have Easter Food delivered to her home in time for Semana Santa (Holy Week). Some of the traditional food includes sweet breads, drinking chocolate and sugar. The food was delivered yesterday and today I received pictures of her family receiving her Easter Food! Thought I would share a couple of my sweet girl!

Look at that sweet toothless smile!! I just love smiles when they lose their two front teeth! (I think they misspelled her name on the chalkboard)

This is Dayli, her little sister, Fristy, her mother and her new baby brother (born in December... what a big little guy!)

I cannot wait to go back down to visit again this fall on my next mission trip!!

Feliz Semana Santa!!

Wacky Wednesday

See new post below this post for Grant's exciting news.

Sophie absolutely LOVES her little buddy, Roberto. We went to his house over the weekend to celebrate his two year Forever Family Day. She fell in love with his toy tool bench and all the accessories... especially the goggles!! This picture cracks me up!

Maybe I have a future carpenter on my hands!!

Watch out Ty!!

Confirmed!!

I promised a little catch up in our crazy, busy family. Last Thursday, my baby boy made his Confirmation. He has been preparing for it for two years in his Evening Religious Education program that he goes to every Wednesday night. I have been so surprised to see how serious he has been about his preparation.

Last Thursday was the big day. Grant chose Christopher as his Confirmation name as he received a St. Christopher medal for his First Communion and has been wearing it ever since. He says that St. Christopher has protected him this long, that he hopes that he will continue to protect him as he grows.

During the procession into the church (looking very serious)...

And after... notice the Chrism (oil) on his forehead. One of our dearest friends in the world, "Uncle Gilly" was his sponsor.

Father Dan with Grant at the reception.

Something you do not notice in these pictures, but is there, is a clavicle brace. Grant fractured his clavicle last Wednesday at his growth plate. He slipped while putting instruments away in band class and his arm was caught in the bars of the storage locker and yanked his shoulder pretty hard. I have made enough trips to the orthopedic in the past month and I hope this trend is over!!!

Life with two teenagers and a toddler keeps me hopping to say the least!! I struggle many days to keep up, but moments such as Confirmation for my son, who has had to deal with too many struggles over recent months, reminds me how blessed I am to have these three children in my life.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

From my little Irish-Guatemalan beauty!!!

Can I also say I LOVE MY NEW CAMERA LENS!?!?! Look at the difference between the closeups with the new lens as opposed to the old standard lens that I took the full body shot picture this morning with!
