Dora Dora???

Sophie is pretty late on the talking front and is just now putting two words together and an occasional three. She is still in weekly speech therapy through the First Steps program and I am seeing slow but forward progress.

Today, after work, our summer nanny (who is awesome... we love her) was cracking up trying to tell me this story of Bug today. Sophie is very much into naming things, but has never been able to say her own name and does not respond when we ask her who the baby is in the picture when it is her. So, today, she was shown a picture of herself and was asked who is it? She responded Dora Dora!! So now, she is going around the house pointing to her pictures and saying "Dora Dora" to them!

So, what do you think? See a resemblance??

Peas In A Pod...

Can I just say that I just LOVE my kids? As much as they can drive me insane by fighting and whining and generally being PITA's, when I look into their faces, I realize what a miracle I have been given for these three children to call me mom.

Now remind me of that every night when I am pulling my hair out waiting for all three of these angels of mine to GO TO SLEEP!! Then, I can go in like I do every night to watch them while they sleep and bless them on their foreheads (or maybe exorcise a demon or two - LOL!).

Pigtails and Phones!

Finally, I am ready to share the surprise from the photo session. It only takes me a couple weeks to get my self organized!!

Anyways... once upon a time (circa 1970), there was a little blonde haired, blue-eyed, two-year-old little girl. Her mommy took her to the photo studio to get her pictures made. She dressed her up in a little seersucker dress and put her hair in pigtails with white ribbons. The result??

Sarah

Wasn't she cute?? They did not do many pictures in color back in the day - LOL!

Fast forward 24 years (circa 1994) and that little girl had her own little brown haired, blue-eyed little two-year old girl who she dressed up in a cute little watermelon dress and pigtails with white ribbons. She decided to take her to the photo studio and have her pictures made with a much smaller, but stylish telephone. The result??

Morgan

Fast forward 13 more years (2007) and that first little girl was blessed with a dark brown hair and brown-eyed little two-year old girl who she dressed up in a seersucker dress with pigtails and white ribbons. She took her to the photo studio and had her pictures made with the same stylish phone as her big sister used! The result??

Sophie

Now, all three pigtailed little two-year old girls are lined up next to each other on our "Wall of Shame". I am so happy that we have this tradition to carry forward with my granddaughters someday (I may even save the phone)!!

Dance Dance Revolution!!

Have you heard of it? It is a game that Morgan plays on her Playstation 2 and is in most all arcades. It is quite humorous to watch as the dancers have to follow these arrows on a screen and move their feet to the dance moves shown to get the best score! Morgan and her friends love it.

The other night, Morgan had a friend over to spend the night. Sophie was really into her Sissy big time this night and followed her all over the house. At one point, the girls disappeared downstairs to put on some socks since they were cold. I noticed that Sophie came up the stairs (which I hate to see her do by herself as I am terrified she will tumble down) and ran into her room, heard her drawer open and close, then her little feet running into the den with a huge smile on her face, proclaiming "My socks". I took her back down to the basement to be with the girls and before long, all three of them were coming up the stairs and Sophie was proudly wearing her socks, just like the big girls.

They decided to break out the dance mats and do some DDR. Bug was very interested in what they were doing and loves to dance!!

Sissy, can I try??

I know you put your feet on here like this

Show me how you do it, Sissy

OK, this is FUN!!

Yeah!! I did it!!

I think I need my own mat now... I got this figured out!!!

Ok girls... ready for the next song! Let's Dance!!

Thanks Sissy, I Love You!!

I wish their mommy had some sense of rhythm!! I just love my girls!!

I promise to update some posts this weekend!! I had some dental work done yesterday and am still a bit loopy from the anaesthetic and anxiety that I have from having dental work done. It didn't help my anxiety any by having the anaesthetic accidentally hit my optic nerve... I lost most vision in my left eye for about 30 minutes which really freaked me out! Don't mess with my lasik corrected eyes!! And... I have to go back in 3 weeks for them to put on a my new permanent crown!! I think I will have to take some ativan before I go back the next time
