Wacky Wednesday

A little background... I am the oldest of four kids... I have three little brothers. My middle brother, Tyler, was born when I was 15 years old and is just the most amazing man (I almost said kid, but he is all grown up now). He is enjoying a gap year between graduating from college and starting life in the real world. He is working as a bellboy at a hotel in Steamboat this winter and gets to enjoy the benefits of his beautiful surroundings on his days off. He sent this picture of himself on the slopes and it is just amazing...

Is that not gorgeous??? I am so jealous!!

Favorite Foto Friday #25 - BESOS

Let's try on a theme for the week and see how it goes... this week's FFF theme/challenge is BESOS (Kisses)! It is one of the most cherished things with my little Bug, as it took her a long time to learn to reciprocate affection. She prefers to turn her cheek to accept a kiss rather than give out kisses of her own. Just recently, she is finally presenting her own delicate kisses and blowing them when asked.

Puckering up...

Blowing her besos...

And the smile that comes with all that love!!!

Ha ha! This is fun!!

Don't forget to leave a comment if you would like me to link your FFF this week! Don't worry about whether you accept the FFF Challenge or not, Fridays are my favorite day of the week because we get to see all those beautiful faces!

Thank you to a special friend!

A thank you to a special friend (who would like to remain anonymous) for helping me redesign my blog. She did an awesome job and I love it!

So, THANKYOU K!!!

I heart Woodkins

Bug and I went shopping today at another of my favorite stores... TJM*axx and I could not believe what I found on Clearance... look:

Yes, Woodkins that are the Princess and The Frog!!! We just had to get them and Sophie has had a ball playing with them. All it is is a little wooden doll attached to a board with various heads to change out with different expressions and little pieces of cloth that you lay over the cutout, close up the board and you can make them have all these different outfits. Sophie was so enthralled with it, especially since she could do it all by herself.

Here she is with her pretty princess all dressed up waiting for her handsome frog...er prince! Notice that she has on her beloved Princess Tutu on top of her footy pj's!!

Sophie is not a child who plays much with toys by herself. She typically prefers to read books or copy whatever I am doing, but this new toy kept her occupied for almost an hour! She was sad to put it away! So... from one weary mommy who runs out of ways to occupy her toddler... I heart Woodkins!

Princess Sophie Bug

A very special friend made the MOST WONDERFUL gift for Sophie~Bug. She has an amazing granddaughter named Allie that she is also outfitting like a princess and shared her talents with my little princesa. I wanted to share some pictures of my Princess Sophie~Bug in her princess tutu!!!

I don't know if you can see her cute embroidered shirt... but it says "Princess Sophie" with a little ladybug for her "Bug" nickname.

Thank you so much, Nancy!!!! You have made one little princess very happy!!!!

(If anybody is interested in ordering their own tutu, leave me a comment with your e-mail address and I can send you Nancy's information).

Love and FROG!!

Favorite Foto Friday #24

Since I discovered the last picture of Sophie in the snow from 2 years ago... I decided to go "RETRO" for this week's FFF. And, again... can't choose just one, but both of these were taken out in our front yard right after Sophie came home at 5 months old.

See how much hair she didn't have around the sides of her head? It was all on the top in a little bunch... but I love her eyes in this picture... so full of trust, wonder and love. We bonded so quickly... as if she knew that she was home where she belonged all along...

And this one is just pure heaven to me... I never saw a smile on her face in any pictures I received during the adoption process. But, when she came home, her smile was just enormous and so contagious. I think all we did was sit around and smile at each other for our 12 weeks of maternity/FMLA leave. Sigh... such a joyous time of my life!!

OK, misting up looking at these pictures. My, how my little bug has blossomed!!! I still feel so blessed each and every day to have her as my daughter.

Leave a comment if you would like me to link your FFF post (or if I find your FFF post first). What would you think of some "themed" FFF posts in the future? Could be a challenge or lots of fun!!
