Pigtail Cuteness

Lately, Miss Bug has just exploded with personality and gotten so giggly and cute. We can't help but just laugh with her and enjoy this stage. Here are some pictures from today of my little pigtailed princesita!

Taking time out to smell the flowers...

Are you done taking pictures of me yet, mommy? It is H-O-T out here!!

Now that we are back inside, I will throw you a little pose... CHEESE!!

I just love this precious face!

Favorite Foto Friday #2

My favorite picture for this week is one I took of little Bug a few days after coming home at 5 months old. She was just so smiley and happy ALL THE TIME. She was a very serious and reserved baby, but her smiles could just light up the room (still do)!!

Boy, how time flies... this was almost two years ago... October 2005. Sigh...

Looking forward to seeing your favorite photos for this week!!

Showers ~ State Fair ~ Frogs and Boo Boos

Just a little cuteness from the past few days.

SHOWER TIME!
I have tried everything... bubbles, Dora foam soap, new bath toys, a ducky tub, etc...my little bug has decided that she does NOT like baths any more. Screams the entire time she is in there. Occasionally, I just pull her into the shower with me and she has done really well. Now that school is back in session, the morning shower with mom thing is just not quite as efficient. So, this past week, I started putting her in the shower by herself and washing her from the side of the tub. The result... she LOVES it!!

Now, she only cries when I tell her it is time to get out!! Don't you just love the smell of clean baby, especially all warm and lotioned up after a bath/shower? Babylicious!

STATE FAIR
The State Fair is in full swing and we made our annual trek there this past weekend. Little Bug was not cooperative at all and was clingy and crabby the entire time... except when she rode her first big girl ride all by herself!

This looks like a Candy Land Choo Choo...

Morgan and Grant were in their normal mode of annoying the everlasting heck out of each other, but managed to ride a couple rides and even crack a smile!!

Irritated at Mom for pulling the camera out - LOL!

There it is... the elusive smile!

Bug was M-A-D that she was not able to go on the swings with them!! Proof that this child is not always smiling!! Rather, she has turned into a whiny toddler!

FROG BOOTS!
OK, it is no secret that our family has an attraction to frogs. Sophie already knows how to work it along with her obsession for shoes and begged to try on these frog boots at my favorite store this weekend. Not only did she refuse to take them off, but I could not resist buying them! What child is not fully dressed without these??

RIBBIT!

And finally... a little art time this evening with Big Brother. Sophie loves to do whatever anybody else is doing. This was a cute moment I just had to capture!

BOO BOO BUNNY
Not long after that serene moment... she fell off the back of her slide and got a nice boo boo on her forehead. She was a good girl and let me hold the ice pack there for about 10 minutes... this is POST ice. Nice goose egg, huh?

And this is my favorite time of the day... right before I go to bed each night, I go in to check on each child. What is special about this picture is that both my girls love Elmo. Morgan slept with her Elmo every night until she was in the double digits. Last night, Sophie chose Elmo (and her little bottle of lotion) to snuggle with. This is how I found her...

"Ni Ni" (as little Bug says)!!

Favorite Foto Friday

Let's admit it... we love to check each other's blogs for pictures of our beautiful kiddos. I challenge you to post your Favorite Photo today (Friday) and tell us why it is your favorite. It can be your favorite of all time, your favorite of the day, week, whatever. Let's see it!

This is my favorite picture of all three of my kiddos because it is from two years ago when we were all in Guatemala visiting Sophie~Bug when she was just 10 weeks old. She was so tiny, just 8 pounds, and Morgan and Grant adored her. They would fight over who could sit next to her or hold her next. It was major baby time competition (but of course, I won most of the time - LOL)! I just love the adoring looks on their faces as they hold their little sister's hands while she slept during one of those few sharing moments. ~sniff sniff~ It was one of those moments where I looked at the three of them and wondered what I did so right to deserve three such awesome chidren.

My First Ponytail!!!

I am not very creative with Sophia's hair but she gets compliments all the time on how beautiful and shiny her hair is. I just love how it looks down and I don't put it up very often. It has finally gotten long enough to pull back in a ponytail and she looked so cute, I had to take the opportunity to do a little outside photo shoot.

My little model...

She was not into the photo shoot until I made her repeat all her little boyfriends' names, then she was all smiles...

A little glimpse of the back... of course, we did not forget the bow!!

Sorry... I have been a bit of a bad blogger... just returned from a Bachelorette Party weekend in Chicago and I am not as young as I once was and it has taken me a few days to catch back up!! LOL

HAPPY DANCE TIME!!!
A HUGE shout out to Heather and her family... Allie is PINK and coming home next week!! YIPPEE!!!

GAFE Bound!

I am so excited about GAFE this weekend. Not only to learn more about Guatemala, but to meet many of my cyber-friends finally after all this time!! Isn't it funny how we all feel so connected and that we "KNOW" each other even though we have never met in person? Adoption is and has been the most amazing experience of my life! I started out with the perception that I would find my daughter and ended up with not only the most perfect child for our family, but so many bonuses along the way!! The most exciting roller coaster ride of my life and one that is still providing thrills nearly every day!

What is also exciting about this weekend is being able to spend four days with Sophie~Bug and have some real Mommy and Sophia time. I feel as if she is always on the go in the car driving her big sister and brother around, yet she always smiles and giggles and has a good time. This weekend is just about her... to learn more about her beautiful birth country and experience time with other families who have been blessed just as we have. I look forward to sharing this with her even though she may not understand what is going on.

I can't post without a few pictures, so here is my little Bug with her new slide!! Notice her "frog mimi" that goes EVERYWHERE with her (I just ordered a spare on ebay this weekend for "just in case"):

She loves to have me sing "Wheels on the Bus" when she drives her new ship... er... bus

Wheee!!! (Doesn't she look thrilled?)

This one looks like she has some 'tude going on, but we were doing the "round and round" part to the Wheels on the Bus song!!

Oh... and we can't forget her new sandals that she picked out at our favorite store, Target!! Her first "toe" sandals with the little piece of leather that goes between her toes... I can't stand them on me, but she LOVES them. This girl is on her way to competition with Imelda Marcos, she has quite the collection and will change her shoes many times per day... off, on, off, on, off... you get the picture. Is she stylin or what? Look at her model them... maybe I should call an agency - LOL!

Also, I have been tagged by Lori for FIVE THINGS, but I will have to wait until I come back to town to post. Consider yourself tagged if you are reading this and I can't wait to read what others have to say about their five things!!

Can you believe it is the end of July?? Where did the summer go?? Two more weeks and it is back to school time for Morgan and Grant!!

As much as I hate to see summer end, the routine of the school year will be welcome. This summer social schedule for my two older ones is killing me!!

Love and FROG!
