Splish Splash She Is Taking A Bath

A little background... about a year ago, Bug woke up one day and decided that baths were suddenly terrifying! She screamed bloody murder if you tried to get her into the tub. I began letting her shower with me, which has worked out well as it is quite quick and easy. But, she was missing out on all the fun and relaxation that a bath can give a girl!

Well, for her birthday, she received some Dora bubble bath. I had put it away in the linen closet thinking she would not use it but decided to save it for "someday". She found it this week and asked to take a bubble bath. Thought I would share some pictures of her "aha" moment!

Hmmmm Mommy... I wonder if I am going to like this?

I think I do!

Ok, mommy, this is really FUN!!!

Why didn't you tell me what I was missing?

Can I take another Dora Bubble Bath tomorrow?

And she has... every day this week. Throws a three year old tantrum if she does not get to... I think I have created a monster! ha ha... A Bubble Bath Monster!

And, several of you have asked for a status update on her scar. I took her back into the plastic surgeon last week as she still has bruising under her eye and the scar is still very red and has a deep ridge. He told me that it looks good and that it is not uncommon for it to still be bruised even 8 weeks after the trauma. Since the metal handlebar went through the muscle and hit the bone, he is not surprised that she is still bruised. And as for the scarring... we are using Vitamin E twice a day on it as well as Mederma twice a day... he believes it will continue to fade as it heals and will remain red for a few more weeks. He may need to do some adjustment on the scar if it needs it, but probably will not for at least six months. I hope that it will fade over time... we will continue to take good care of it. Any suggestions or ideas for doing anything more to help it?

Oh... and Sophie had her first car date last week... stay tuned for pics!

Want to know something else that works magic?? Just discovered this on my 12 year old!! Crayola Bath Crayons! Seriously...I got them for Lyza, Maddy found them and I cannot get her out of the tub now! Every single night there would be a new message across the shower!! It was so cute! When she left for summer visitation to her dad's...she wrote a message (heartwarming) and i didn't wash it off for two weeks! Bath Aisle, Walmart, $3.00 ~~~ PRICELESS!

So glad to hear she is back to enjoying the bubblies in the tub!! We have a jet tub, and she would pass out if she saw how many bubbles we can make with that!

Sounds like you are doing all you can for her scar-I am sure her scar will be gone before you know it!

So glad she discovered the joy of a nice soak in the tub!!! If only mommy could get time for that, huh???

I would imagine the scar will continue to fade over time. Gabriella's continues to get better, but since it's a burn, unfortunately, it discolored her skin and I worry about that going away. With a cut, I think she's going to hardly have anything noticable as time goes on.

A girl after my own heart!!! :) Glad she is loving the bubble bath now. :) I am glad the plastic surgeon feels it is healing well, but as a mommy I would feel just as you do. I don't know any special tricks or tips, but I already think it looks so much better just from previous scar pictures.

So adorable! Who knew that all it took was a few Dora bubbles to win her over :)

I think her scar looks really good considering what it looked like before! I am sure that it will fade and blend in more and more.

Aww...its nice to see her smiling in the tub! Funny how these little ones change. Good for her that she likes her Dora bubbles. Guess you will have to keep them handy or go let her pick our more "theme" bubbles. :)

Im looking forward to seeing her first "car ride"!

Love and Hugs..

Wow, I love to take bubble baths now and so don't both my 24 year old daughter and 17 year old daughter. I think it is a girly thing. She is adorable.

I hope Sabrina has one of those moments soon...she has hated baths for 9 months now and showering with her is less traumatic than giving her a bath but only slightly. I've tried bubbles and toys - nothing seems to make the girl like her bath again.

Glad she has found a love for bubble baths. I love it, but it is a thing of the past. I am lucky to get a five minute shower.

Her eye looks great from where it started. You are taking great care of her. Glad to hear it is healing properly. I will ask my husband if has any further advice since he is a family physician, but is sounds like you are right on track. Thank goodness.

Have a great vacaction! It looks beautiful where you are heading!
