Today truly was Wacky Wednesday at Sophie's school in celebration of Dr. Seuss week... I snapped these early this morning on our way out the door, so excuse the fake smile!! She completely picked out her wacky outfit herself and I put in four pigtails complete with different color bows!
And because we had so much fun last night, here are some pictures of Bug and her Uncle Tyler (my brother) at Waterfront Park where we played before dinner! He is staying with us for a couple months before he moves west. We have LOVED having him with us and as you cad tell, Sophie ADORES him! It makes my heart so happy to see them together!
We had a great time out last week to dinner with Kim and Alex at the Chik* restaurant with the giant dancing cow! Neither one was a fan of her coming too close to them, but they were happy to wave!
Thought I would share a few pictures of the cutie patootie twosome!
They were so cute playing together in the tubes!! Alex was so sweet calling for Sophie to come with him!! He even let her slide down first! What a gentleman!
The kids topped off the playdate with a little ice cream... are they (the kids) not delicious looking?
Mmm mmm good!
Thanks Kim! I hope we can do this more often! Sophie is still talking about Alex!
I have several favorites from February... but to stick with the theme and accept the challenge... here is ONE in B/W of my little Bug.
Here is Mr. Linky! Thanks to all of you who are linking their post and not just your blog! I try to go in and repair the links when I have time. I also apologize for not commenting as much lately... life is busy but good!
Add one more medical mishap down for Mr. Grant... he had to part with his appendix Tuesday afternoon after a bout with appendicitis. Luckily, they were able to do it laparoscopically and he is healing up just fine with a little help from T*lenol 3! I did not take my camera with me to chronicle this moment in time for him (he can thank me later).
Calgon... take me away!! Will I ever have the time to blog again?? ha ha
This is a completely random weekend post that I hope you will join along with! Have you ever heard a song that just makes you smile? Did it happen to be incorporated into a musical or movie that made you buy the DVD and watch it over and over again? Did you ever wish that the singer was actually a family member or friend that you could call up and just chat with?
Well, I ran across this video tonight and listening to it just made me smile.
It brings me back to the 70's and 80's when I grew up and I just loved Olivia Newton John. I first fell in love with her in Grease and then I wished she were my sister, best friend or mother (could be possible - LOL)!
I also wished that my dad was Michael Landon (remember Pa Ingalls?)! Seriously! I had dreams that I would run through fields of wildflowers towards Pa and he would whirl me around and tell me that he loved me. Of course, I was Mary, not Laura... I was further convinced that it was meant to be when Mary got married and her last name became Kendal, which is my middle name.
OK, so now you know a little bit more about me and what it is that made me who I am today... a little kooky, I bet you are thinking, to even have come up with this post. So, if anybody wants to join along, post something fun about your childhood that makes you smile still today!
I promise that I am sane and sober tonight... just being a bit nostalgic as my daughter is off to her Junior Father Daughter Dance and I just wonder what it is someday that she will remember from her childhood.
I think that is a new theme around our house with little Miss Bug... she has really been showing her silly side lately, which is so wonderful to see in her developing personality.
She even cracks herself up!
Of course, I have always had a silly OLDER daughter... Morgan defines SILLY! Here she is last month running through the ice and snow covered driveway just because I dared her to!
And last week clowning around with her friends at the Derby Museum...
Here is Mr. Linky!! Thanks to those of you who are remembering to link your post and not just your blog url's!
No theme next week... how about we just post our favorite foto from the month of February. If you want a challenge, post it in black and white...
I feel this way about all 3 of my kids... Martina McBride

When Love Takes You In - Steven Curtis Chapman
Truly a miracle starts with the beat of a heart. This video truly captures how beautiful adoption is to me and I love that Steven Curtis Chapman wrote this about his daughters adopted from China.
